Welcome

Thankfully another Hurricane Season has been kind to Florida. However, we are in the middle of a very active storm cycle and there is still a high probability of major hurricane impact in 2008. So it is critical that we maintain our readiness and take every opportunity to promote the preparedness process. Meanwhile, FlaWARN’s success is being modeled across the nation and new mutual aid modalities are now in place to support "utilities helping utilities". Remember FlaWARN is not just for hurricanes, and we may well be called upon to help in any emergency at any time.

Also please remember: As an emergency response program it is imperative that FlaWARN has the latest, thorough and effective contact information. Outdated or incorrect information can hinder efforts to help your agency, and severely inhibit FlaWARN’s function in an emergency.

Updating your utility’s profile is quick and easy (click here). If you need further info please see our tutorial, How to use FlaWARN, or contact FlaWARN Administration.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have aggressive spam protection please insure FlaWARN is on your list of allowed senders.

Thank you very much for your cooperation in this important effort.

FlaWARN is the formalized system of "utilities helping utilities" address mutual aid during emergency situations. These incidents may be man-made or natural disasters. The project's infrastructure consists of a secure web-based data bank of available resources and a practical mutual aid agreement.

The goal of FlaWARN is to provide immediate relief for member utilities during emergencies. FlaWARN works by matching personnel with the necessary tools and equipment to both assess and assist the impacted water and wastewater system as quickly as possible until a permanent solution to the devastation may be implemented. This method of assistance is analogous to triage at a hospital.
